+ Pre-Paint Treatment
The long established Connemara Airport is located in Co. Galway. The airport is of significant importance to the area as it is a mainland connection point for the air service to the Aran Islands. The airports management were preparing the establishment for its anniversary celebrations which would inevitably attract much media attention and publicity.
The buildings exterior is the first point of impression for all visiting guests. This immediately provided clarity on the need to regenerate its once dull and polluted exterior surfaces. The airport management team got in touch with a painting contractor to carry out the application of a fresh new look. However, at the time, the building was heavily contaminated with various organic growths. Painting on top of this would adversely affect paint adhesion. To solve this issue, the contractor carried out a spray application of Actiwash to all surfaces prior to painting. Actiwash enabled the paint to fully adhere to the building substrate and not the organic soiling, consequently giving rise to a durable, long-lasting coat of paint.
